Responsive Resource Series: Wool workshops-Weaving
The penultimate instalment of Responsive Resource Series: Wool workshops was hosted by Stoke based artist Nadine Wilde of Wilde Studio. Her sister Katrina held the previous workshop on natural dying so this was a follow up session for some, with many new participants joining to learn the process with wools provided.
We began by Nadine demonstrating a number of processes and weaves that can easily be achieved. On a free standing loom, moving onto more complex patterns. We were also encouraged to use a table loom that she had provided which has a much faster production rate so we were quickly able to create a swatch made up of all of the work from different participants.
The session lasted for around three hours and all of the participants commented on the relaxing therapeutic and creative benefits of the workshop. The woven pieces whilst smaller in scale than the other textiles created in the workshop series
